I became a better photographer because of toy cameras like the Ziegel. They’re cheaply manufactured (with negligible quality control, plastic parts, etc.), the expectation is that anything shot on them will look like trash.
Which is freeing.
It encouraged me to be less judgmental when shooting. To be more “in the moment,” than editorial.
You get better—or, more closely align your art making with your art taste—by doing more work. Quantity yields quality.
And if the expectation is on the floor, it’s a lot easier to do more of it.
